According to foreign media reports, the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced on Thursday formally approved the Tesla car deal to buy energy provider SolarCity. The deal was approved so quickly, primarily two companies there is too much overlap in their businesses.
Tesla announced on August 1 this year to offer of SolarCity. Aimed at the latter's solar products to promote new energy management system and related economic benefits.
As the United States's top commercial solar panel suppliers, SolarCity was founded in October 2008 and headquartered in foster city, California. Its business is divided into three main categories: photovoltaic system installation and sales, solar lease, and PPA, as well as energy efficiency upgrade (energy-efficient) service.
Mr MASKEY said the acquisition of SolarCity will make Tesla's transformation into a vertically integrated energy company, to provide customers with end-to-end clean energy products, including solar panels, home energy storage devices and electric vehicles.
Previously, SolarCity for a long period of time because of the low prices of competitors are under financial pressure. And because of some United States States gradually withdrew its subsidies for solar panel installation, which also had a large negative impact on the company's performance.
As of Thursday's close, Tesla's stock price closed $ 220.96, down $ 1.66, about 0.75%.
